Our Kenyon Grills comes standard with disposable drip trays.  So you may be wondering why we offer an optional  coated drip tray? ! Our disposable drip trays last multiple uses but eventually will need to be thrown out.

The coated drip tray offers a more permanent solution as this accessory is eco-friendly and never needs to be replaced. This custom coated aluminum drip tray is easy to clean and dishwasher safe.   Never worry about running out of drip trays again and enjoy peace of mind!

Kenyon was thrilled to be part of the Eighth Annual Vermont Cheesemakers’ Festival at Shelburne Farms on the shore of beautiful Lake Champlain on July 17th, 2016. In conjunction with locally sourced artisan Vermont vendors and Yankee Magazine, we grilled up the Ultimate Vermont Slider for hungry event goers looking for a taste of local flavors.

The ingredients for our Ultimate Vermont Sliders consisted of Beef Patties from the VT Beef Industry Council, 6-Month Aged Cheddar Cheese from Shelburne Farms, Potato Slider Rolls from the Vermont Bread Company, Gourmet Horseradish and Maple Wholegrain Mustard provided by Green Mountain Mustard and Wozz! Kitchen Creations Triple Ale Onion Spread. The burgers were every bit as fresh and delicious as they sound. You could even create your own Ultimate Vermont sliders by following the links above!

Thrillist reviewed our new SilKEN® Grill, which is a smokeless indoor grill that lets you BBQ anywhere and anytime.  Below is there review:

You know that feeling when you try to grill brisket in your bathtub over an open flame and end up almost burning your house down? No? Well, one Knoxville, TN woman actually does, as she inexplicably set up a wood-burning grill inside her tub in the name of fresh, indoor BBQ.

Amateur pitmasters, there’s an easier way. Not all grills need an open flame, nor do they all create the same amount of smoke as a 1970s diesel tractor trailer. There’s a wide world of viable options for grilling in the great indoors. One example: the Kenyon portable SilKEN Grill. Like my favorite avenue, it’s electric. There’s zero smoke. Barely any smell. And it cooks a mean wiener.

It might seem like $800 is a steep price to grill in your home/office, but it’s significantly less than a full bathroom remodel, right?

Cool Mom Tech reviewed our SilKEN® Portable Grill calling it the ultimate indoor/outdoor grill for people who thought they could never have one.

“Keep your grilling game on all year round.  What’s most impressive though isn’t the portability but the way it cooks.  My husband tends to be the grill master of the house, but with the Kenyon, I felt pretty confident in sharing that title, at least for a night. It’s so easy to operate with a single dial for controls, it gets impressively hot — around 500 degrees — so there’s really nothing I haven’t been able to grill on there.”

Urban BBQ: Embrace Indoor Grilling with Kenyon’s City Grill.  Of all summer possibilities, BBQing is easily one of the greatest. However, grilling is widely considered an activity that requires a large amount of space; many of us who live in apartment buildings, condos, or other urban spaces feel locked out of this kingdom. In reality, urban/indoor grilling is possible — especially if you get your hands on a City Grill from Kenyon. For help putting together an indoor grilling guide, we reached out to Mike Williams, the Grill Specialist for Kenyon.

1. Get an Electric Grill

Cooking with an open flame is fine when you have miles of sky above you, but not so much if you live in cramped quarters. Since electric grills do not have an open flame, they’re legit for use in apartment and condos. Though you can use any electric grill on your balcony or building roof, or any indoor-grade grill (hello, George Forman!), we really don’t think you can do any better than the City Grill.

“We noticed that there was a need for a safe grilling option,” says Williams. “We needed to make something that wouldn’t catch fire, and wouldn’t have any flare-ups or smoke. So we developed our City Grill, which eliminated all those drawbacks from grilling while giving the user the benefits of the grill marks, grill flavor, and the overall enjoyment of grilling.”

The City Grill is small, portable, and easy to use. Williams goes on to extol the main benefit of the grill: “It’s the only grill that’s UL-approved for indoor and outdoor use, so people who live in an apartment can take it outside to the balcony, or if it’s cold out they can bring it inside, and use it the exact same way they would if they were grilling outdoors.” The City Grill is meticulously designed to give off very little smoke — definitely not enough to set off a smoke alarm (or your neighbors).

CLINTON, CT – Kenyon International Inc, a specialty electric grill manufacturer, recently introduced its newest product, the SilKEN® Grill. Ideal for those grilling in small spaces with little storage area, the SilKEN® Grill boasts a collapsible lid to ensure consumers don’t have to compromise the quality of their grilled food due to limited space. In addition to its compact size, the grill’s lid also stays cool to the touch and prevents accidental burns due to its silicone lid.

With the introduction of the SilKEN® Grill, Kenyon continues its mission to provide top of the line, innovative grilling options to its customers. Whether on a boat, in an RV, a small apartment or even your backyard, the SilKEN® Grill is perfect for all. The use of silicone allows the grill lid to collapse to a height of just two inches for easy use and storage. The lid and other parts of the grill, such as the grate, detach for quick and easy cleaning.

“The SilKEN® Grill is the latest addition to our line of unique grilling products that go beyond the traditional backyard BBQ,” said Phil Williams, president at Kenyon International, Inc. “For our customers looking to grill in a small kitchen or on the open water in their boat, this new product is the ultimate convenience and completely solves the issues associated with traditional oversized grills.”

The SilKEN® Grill’s lid is made from high temperature silicone, which features an insulation quality that allows for both fast and even distribution of heat. The handles are also reinforced so that they remain cool to the touch throughout use. As with all Kenyon grills, its newest product is smokeless and flameless, an important safety feature for consumers looking to use the grill indoors or in other non-traditional grilling environments.

“We originally began manufacturing grills after realizing the boating industry lacked safe marine grilling options, and ever since then we’ve been dedicated to seeking out new ways to improve the grilling experience,” adds Williams. “After realizing so many of our customers utilized our products in unique grilling environments, where space is often limited, we sought to create an even more efficient and space-saving product. The SilKEN® Grill is truly a game changer for our customers.”

The SilKEN® Grill is designed for use in any environment, with a focus on efficiency in small spaces. The new model is made with marine grade stainless steel and features a sleek Space Grey color lid.

It’s officially the “start” of grilling season, but if you have a Kenyon All Seasons electric grill you know that grilling season never really left. When the days are longer and the anticipated warmer temperatures have finally arrived, it’s time to get outside and entertain patio style. Clean up the backyard, dust off the lawn chairs and move the grill outdoors to dine al fresco and rejoice in the sunshine.

To usher in a grillers favorite time of year, we’ve put together a few tips and techniques to help you have your best grilling season yet. Let’s get started!

Prepping and Preparing:

  • Marinades, rubs or brining are all great ways to add depth to the food you grill.
  • Choose bone-in meat for a more succulent, textured flavor. This also prevents meat from drying out and shrinking during cooking.
  • Let your meat reach room temperature an hour prior to grilling. This ensures an even and thorough cooking and allows for proper sear marks to develop versus an overcooked, crusty outer layer.
  • Adding liquid to your Kenyon drip tray is an essential function of our grills. Make sure to add at least a cup of liquid into the drip tray prior to grilling. Water is most commonly used but you could have a little fun and add in a variety of liquids that pair palatably with your meats. This liquid will evaporate during the grilling process and the evaporation will infuse into the food to produce a layer of flavor.
  • Try out these suggested combination of meats/liquids or create your own unique signature combo that will wow your guests and have them asking, “what’s your secret?”

Seafood – White Wine, Citrus Soda

Steak – Red Wine

Chicken – Water with a TBSP Lemon Juice

Pork – Apple Juice, Liquid Smoke

Burgers & Sausages– Beer

Cooking Conditions

  • When grilling, lay food on the grate in neat rows, moving from left to right. This will help you keep track of which food got placed on the grill first.
  • You won’t be able to achieve grill marks or accurately keep track of cooking time if you’re constantly turning over your meat every few seconds. For a more professional look and to achieve grill marks leave your food alone until it’s absolutely necessary to flip.
  • Choose between our grate or griddle attachment depending on the type of foods you are preparing. The griddle works best for breakfast foods such as pancakes and eggs, or anything that needs to be cooked on a flat surface.
  • No one wants to bite into an under cooked piece of meat or keep chewing on over cooked foods, instead use an internal meat thermometer and eliminate the guesswork out of grilling meats and get perfect results every time. Below are the minimal internal temperature guidelines for meat, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
  • Meat continues to cook even after it comes off the grill, so it’s best to remove just before desired doneness is reached and when it’s a few degrees under the listed temperature as it will continue to cook while resting.  Let rest for 5 minutes so the juices have a chance to settle back in.

Poultry: 165°F

Beef: The USDA lists the minimal internal temp for beef at 145°F. However, if you like your steaks cooked medium, go for 140°F; medium rare, go for 135°F.

Pork: 145°F

Fish: 145°F

Cleaning the Grill

No matter what type of grill you have, routine cleaning after each use is the key to maintaining it. Clean grills look better, work better and won’t leave a bad after taste on food. Before your Kenyon Grill cools, take a damp paper towel and tongs and rub the paper towel back and forth to loosen any leftover residue. For a deeper clean, place your grate or griddle directly in the dishwasher.

Tech.Co put together their Spring Gadget Guide: Grilling and Cooking which includes our City Grill.  There is nothing better than enjoying a perfect day and grilling with some friends except for adding these hight tech options:

“During the spring months one of my favorite things to do is to sit back and enjoy an evening outside with friends around a grill. Whether you prefer good ole-fashioned charcoal, Hank Hill-style propane, or enjoy the slow-cooked smokey approach, most grills haven’t changed; however, one traditional grilling brand is starting to change all of this.

The following grilling and cooking gadgets are on Tech.Co’s Spring Gadget Guide as must-haves for a successful BBQ party or simply to enjoy the weekend:

Another contender for city life cooking, the Kenyon electric is an advance grill designed to be smokeless and prevent flare ups. Just like your typical grill, the Kenyon Electric City Grill is able to heat up to 600 degrees, but has a slew of other features they lack. Without using a flame, their heat element is placed within the unit, preventing direct contact with food and preventing smoke. And while the dripping tray may also release smoke, simply by adding water to it will reduce that possibility. It features a nonstick grate and can be used indoors or outdoors. “
